Advance Health Care Directive (a/k/a Living Will)
This document addresses what health care or method(s) of treatment is to be administered to the person making the directive in situations of permanent unconsciousness or where there is no reasonable hope of recovery.
In this document a person expresses just what measures he or she wants to sustain life as well as those which are not desired. The advanced directive or living will is usually prepared in conjunction with a health care power of attorney. Every adult should have an advanced directive to reduce the burden on their loved ones at a stressful time.
